This course has been designed specifically for teachers working with Year 0-8 students. Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of sentence structure, improve student writing outcomes, or gain practical strategies to implement in your classroom, this course will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to do so.

Course Overview

This is a four-week online course that will guide you through key aspects of writing and syntax, using explicit instruction and inquiry-based approaches.

Throughout this course, you will:

  • Develop a clear understanding of syntax and its role in writing development.
  • Learn practical strategies to explicitly teach sentence construction and grammar.
  • Explore how to support students in applying syntax knowledge to improve writing fluency and cohesion.
  • Gain access to hands-on activities and resources to use in your teaching practice.
  • Reflect on current practices and refine your approach to teaching writing.
